2011 has been a wonderful year for Monster Alphabets. I have achieved so much. To think how far I have come since this time last year is truly astounding. Thank you to all my friends and family who have supported me and invested so much faith in Monster Alphabets. With out you, none of this would have been possible.

2012 is looking very exciting already with my garments going in to stores for you all to see. My next step would be a website!!

Sunday was an exciting day for me, my first professional shoot with photographers Shirin Carter and Craig Williams, as well the talented hair and make up professionals, Lee Taylor Rennie and Phoebe Limanta and the amazing Model, Steph.

Needless to say, my very first photo shoot there was obviously one very scared designer...

However, it was an awesome day. My friend Alison was there to help me out. The day would not have been possible without her. On the day I was very nervous and this caused me to be clumsy, spilling water everywhere, ironing the same spot over and over.... Alison's calm and cool helped me to relax and channel my focus.

Thank you to everyone on the team. Your generosity in service and time, your talent, your humor, made everything perfect on the day. Thank you also to James and Romina from ZEKKA for letting me borrow the beautiful boots.

It was just MAGIC!

This was the space that I worked very hard in for the past 12 months. It had really high ceilings and beautiful timber floors that had this special tactile quality to it..

I still have dreams about working in this space! When I head to work I almost take the wrong exit off the freeway because I forget that I no longer work in that space.

My new space isn't fully set up yet. But I promise to take photos of it to show you guys! Its a cute space.

I am flat out but enjoying everyday. Another meeting today and then back to pattern cutting!! I am waiting for more pattern card to arrive!

Monster Alphabets has now moved (again..!) ! It is a beautiful and cute space. The view is magnificent and keeps me wanting to stay in my studio space to do more work.

I miss my old studio space, I miss my friends who I shared it with. I miss our chats and laughs and lunches together. Thanks to everyone at MATA DESIGN STUDIO for giving me a space to work in for the past 12 months. Your encouragement and support will never be forgotten! The first 6months I was full of doubt and whined a lot. Thanks for your patience and listening to me, always finding the funny side of things and making me laugh. Thanks for tolerating my noisy overlocker which sounded like a squealing pig.

Before fashion there was architecture in my life. Although I don't practise architecture anymore, I do miss the idea of designing built forms, the volumes, the light, the sequence of spaces, the experience.

During my visit to Melbourne I visited my friend Anthony Clarke's studio. We studied together at UWA and now he has his own practice. He had this wall full of amazing models. He is an amazing designer.

It made me miss architecture and designing in the larger scale.

But never look back.. I am in a much happier place now. I love my job. Every single day I love what I do. I consider myself very lucky. I wake up every morning and I can't wait to go to my studio. Even though some days I spend all my time doing paperwork and not much of the creative aspects, I still love it.

MELBOURNE BOUND!

Yes we are! My new collection and myself will be taking a small trip to Melbourne! It's been a year since I was there last time, I hope its not as cold! Although the weather has been pretty miserable here in Perth too!

I'm sure Melbourne will welcome me with some sunshine?
