WESTERN AUSTRALIA FASHION AWARDS _ N O M I N A T I O N

Last Tuesday we found out that we have been nominated by the members of the Perth fashion industry for the Designer for tomorrow award.

We can not describe in words how surprised we are.  Thank you so much we are so happy.  As a small independent label, we never really know how much of our design philosophy reaches outside of our studio so we were thrilled to finally know that people actually know about us.

Monster Alphabets was very lucky to be selected to showcase at the Fremantle Fashion Collective on the 9th of November.  

The event was orchestrated by Hannah Mcgrath at the stunning venue of B-shed in Fremantle.

Thank you to Vangoh shoes for letting me use their shoes for the show and Hannah C. from Curtin Uni for being my helper backstage.  

The show had a much more intimate feel than the other shows I have done.  It was really great to meet the other Fremantle designers and also mingle with the lovely volunteers.

COLLABORATION - NEW RETAIL SPACE

SIX THREAD is a collaboration between 6 emerging fashion labels from Perth.  

Location: Old Myer building in Fremantle.

We have teamed up with some of the most hard working talents around.  The project is an initiative produced by Spacemarket and City of Fremantle to reactivate the area.

It has been an incredible experience already, from developing the fit out to spending time interacting with the customers.

 The designers themselves will be at the store to share a little bit of the story behind each garment.

What a night it was.

The evening was wonderful.  

Monster Alphabets opened for WA Designer Collections.  

I must thank everyone who was involved in the show that contributed but there are a few people that I worked closely to that I would like to express my gratitude -

Thank you to Emma Bergmeier -Varian the lovely project manager who met with me few months ago and basically held my hand throughout the process of PFF 2013.  She was amazingly patient with me, helped me iron out any worries I had about anything and everything.  

Head Dresser Kelvin Janissen for helping me out backstage, he was always very helpful and very friendly under extremely stressful situations.

Many thanks to Vanessa from Vangoh shoes.  The Kavala sandals and Crete flats were just perfect for my aesthetics and I really appreciate the extra time she spent with me trying to sort out sizing problems we had.  

Thanks also to Mariella Harvey-Hanrahan, Chelsey Wayte, Emily Howlett, Janna Jones, Holly May and every single volunteer that helped out on the day.  The dressers were fantastic and very professional.

Beautiful Emily Withers.  She modelled for me at STYLEAID 2012.  It was great to see her again.

POP UP SHOP

Monster Alphabets is currently taking part at the pop up shop in Northbridge.  224a William Street.  Located between the classy strip joint and Flipside Burger Place.  

The current summer collection is up to 50% and there are also some very rare finds from my previous collections all heavily discounted.  

I am really enjoying getting to know the other Perth designers too.  There is a really interesting mix of designers taking part so you will definitely find something that you like whether it is clothes, accessories, photographic works, paintings.. etc.

I did the window display!  I placed all the white tone dresses as I thought it might help to attract attention from the street!  The second from the right is my FRIDA Dress.  Also comes in black.

This is my Semi Eclipse skirt.  It was $195 now reduced to $50!
